CEREC Restorations – Crowns, Bridges, Inlays, Onlays, Veneers, And Implant Restorations.
Many of the dental restorations that Dr. Reilly provides at the office are made by using a highly advanced (CEREC) Restorative system. This system utilizes digital imaging and CAD/CAM technology to create very precise fitting restorations. The first step in making a CEREC restoration is to scan the teeth with a special camera. Next, Dr. Reilly will carefully remove decay, old filling material, and any weakened tooth structure. Once the tooth is prepared, the tooth is rescanned. The images from the camera generate a 3D model of the teeth. Dr. Reilly then, using the CEREC software, designs a restoration specifically for your tooth.
The design is then sent to our CEREC milling unit. The restoration is milled from a high-strength, all ceramic material. Once the restoration is milled and the fit is verified, the restoration is polished and it is bonded in place. This system has many wonderful advantages compared to the older technique of impression making, placing a temporary crown, and sending to the lab for fabrication:
All the restorations are made of a highly esthetic and very strong ceramic material. Each restoration is designed custom to each patient and the needs of their mouth and bite. There are many different typed of materials that can be milled on a CEREC milling machine. They come in blocks of all different strengths, colors, opacities, and materials. The blocks can be milled into inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers, bridges, resin bonded bridges, and implant crowns.ONE VISIT
We make the restorations here in our office, and there is no need for an impression, temporary restoration, follow up appointment, needing multiple doses of anesthesia.
